Circulation Proceedures
Most books can be checked out for 2 weeks. There are no overdue fines.

Reference books circulate overnight. There is a fine of $.50 per day for overdue reference materials. Overnight reference materials must be returned before first period on the day that they are due.

New magazines may not be checked out. Back issues may be checked out. They circulate for 2 weeks.

Lost or missing library books become your financial responsibility.
These are the consequences for students who fail to return or pay for books long overdue:
- suspension of checkout privileges
- ineligibility for student parking passes
- withholding graduation tickets

Sign-in & Passes
You are expected to come to the Media Center with a pass from your class. When visiting the Media Center during lunch, after school, or with a pass from your class; you must sign in at the circulation desk and sign out before leaving.

All bookbags need to be removed and placed in the drop off area upon entering the Media Center.

Copies
You may make a copy for $.10 per page.
Overhead transparencies cost $.10 per sheet AND $.10 per copy.

Printing
You may print in Black and White for $.10/page, therefore you need to know the length of your print job. (Click on File... Print Preview.)
Color printing is available for $.25/page.

Audio/Visual Equipment
A/V equipment may be checked out for class presentations by the teacher who assigned the project. A/V equipment includes Laptops, Projection Units, Digital Cameras, and Video Cameras.

Computers
We have 29 computers in the Media Center available for your use.
Teachers may sign up for their classes to use the lab, which has 30 computers.

Internet Use
Internet use during class time should be for schoolwork only. All internet sites you visit should be school appropriate.
As stated in your internet agreement form, the following are off limits at HHS:
.....Personal E-Mail
.....Chat Rooms
.....Bulletin Boards
.....Non-educational Games
.....Shopping
Any student not following the rules will be asked to get off of the computer.
